The Pharaoh Ay of the valley of monkeys

The tomb of the pharaoh Ay

This pharaonic tomb is located on the west side of the valley of the kings, it is assumed that the pharaoh had to be occupying the penultimate king of the dynasty eighteen (for some is considered the last)

The mummy of the Pharaoh  was not found until today and his sarcophagus was destroyed, perhaps by orders of Hormoheb ,the next successor, so  some students say about the Pharaonic  that he had no right to the throne after  death of Tut Ankh Amon but had made a trap to convince the egyptian people that he was a legitimate pharaoh when he made the rite of opening  mouth to disseminate the mummy of Pharaoh Tut, for that reason he was the heir to the throne according to the tradition of the egyptian people .Tha first grave was made in that zone  was the tomb of the great pharaoh Amenhotep the third and the tomb of Ay is one of the few located there, perhaps to mislead thieves, and after him so well disposed Akhenaten before moving to Tell el-Amarna and that is logical that this place was located in the footsteps of his father, the tomb has a straight shaft and no burial pit. The tomb itself is very small, very schematic and simple in every way

The tomb with the entrance and two runners on with a stair ramp down more between them. Then we found a hall or chamber "well" and finally the burial chamber or crypt. This in turn consists of a camera attached

It is much like the decorative work of the tomb of King Ay with King Tutankhamen, concluding that the painters of both burials were the same, separated by a short space of time. There are some scenes that actually become equal, and the art style of Tell El Amarna is copied in both places. This led to thinking that maybe this tomb was originally intended for Tutankhamun, and Ay when  he usurped the throne. The burial of the young king was sent back to the Valley of the Kings, in a simple grave for a pharaoh.

The conservation status of the frescoes is not perfect. The only area that came to be painted was the burial chamber, and in her many paintings have been lost, we have a few hours of the book of the dead, are particularly famous colorful footage of baboons which were the common name for the entire necropolis (Valley of Monkeys). And most of the monkeys is a hunting scene Oh so pretty with his wife Tey in the swamps, hunting ducks and harpooning hippos.

The tomb of King Ay was discovered in 1816 by Belzoni ITALIAN almost by accident, while working for Henry Salt. The main object was brought to light was the sarcophagus of stone, broken into several pieces, and now again in the grave, behind a deep restoration.

It is thought by some students is to discover a third hiding today and destroyed, or that it could be yet to discover. The main reasons for the theory of a third cache is based on the discovery of remains of funerary objects with the name of Ay in a tomb in the Valley of the Kings. thought that perhaps there was or is a third cache of mummies and more relatives of the woman Ay Tut Ankh Amon

The conclusion: we must recognize tha Pharaonic
