The huge Naser High Dam in Aswan

The huge Naser High Dam in Aswan

The wonders are many  in the modern Egypt as Nasser's High Dam, the second in size worldwide after Taipu Dam in Brazil, was built by former Egyptian President Nasser from 1960 until 1970 , ten years working day and night and finally has realized the dream of building a dam Naser large to water safety and modernization
Egypt has several dams on the Nile to regulate the flow of water and to get electricity from the turbines at each dam, but the biggest of all is the Naser High Dam, which is visited by tourists because it is always a big part of the tourism .
Egypt was dominated along  three years by the French and  by the English seventy years from 1882 to 1952 when the Free Officers of the Egyptian army made the revolution against the Egyptian monarchy and the British, beginning of representative democracy in the new Egyptian republic, the first Egyptian President Mohamed Naguib was the colonel who was cut off then by his military colleagues to elect as the second president Nasser of Egypt, Nasser wanted to modernize the country and advance the construction of the High Dam to produce electricity, which is considered the basis of industry and manufacturing
Naser asked international society a loan to build the High Dam because Egypt has been poor then, unfortunately the British and the Americans have rejected the request Naser Naser as a result made a very bold step that struck everyone was the nationalization of the Suez Canal which was in the hands of British and French under a contract of ninety-nine years, Naser has made it clear that the channel will pay the high dam, and so in revenge England, Israel and France have made a very cowardly way when they have done geometry bombing invasion against the three cities of the channel Ismaelya, portsaid and Suez, killing many and destroying the homes of many who had to find other shelters to live as the cemetery of Cairo, later called the city of the dead because Nearly fifteen thousand houses Imagine how people live in a cemetery?
The High Dam consists of three initial parts:

1-the body of the dam has a length of four kilometers, the height from the bottom of the Nile to reach 111 meters above the base of the dam is 980 meters wide but up only 40 meters width2-tank of the dam is Lake Nasser, the lake has an area of 500 km, 350 km in the land of Egypt and Sudan 150 km, the depth in the lake reaches to eighty meters deep, this lake is the artificial the biggest in the world3-12 turbines, ten turbines operate and two reserves, each turbine produces 197,000 kw per hour
The advantages of the High Dam are many:

1-year-round water
2 - power that feeds a quarter of Egypt
3-great tourism on cruises between Aswan and Abu Simbel
4-a lot of fishing on Lake NasserThe disadvantages of the High Dam
1-Nubians are the inhabitants of both banks of the Nile have lost their land because it was flooded by Lake Nasser, but helped Unesco and the Egyptian government has given other land to the north, but they are never happy with this exchange of land and always regret the loss of the land of gold
2-the Pharaonic temples, tombs and castles were to be lost by the Nile waters that have risen hundred feet, thanks to the Unesco had begun the rescue of all 17 temples have been rescued, four temples giving countries more helpers this rescue, a temple to Spain, another temple to the Netherlands, another temple for America, and one for Italy
3-Nile mud coming in floods to fertilize farmland Egyptian, now  no passes by  the barrier of the High Dam, and all the silt is accumulated back, so the Egyptians used chemical fertilizers are now many
The conclusion: the benefits outweigh the disadvantages
