Anubis the god of mummification


Anubis was the  lord of the city of the dead which was almost always in the West Bank, and laces to guide the souls of the dead in the afterlife according to the beliefs of the ancient Egyptians, the worship of Anubis was universal fact that Greco-Roman era Greeks called Hermes and the Romans called Hermanubis
Anubis was depicted as a jackal-headed man or as a black dog, as a the fertile soil color that symbolizes the resurrection. after the rise of Osiris to the power of the dead on the other side, Anubis was in charge of embalming the bodies of the pharaohs and guide to the city of the dead where he stayed to care and monitoring as the guardian of the dead from all evil, for this reason the priests of Anubis used a ritual masks of  the face of Anubis during mummification of the pharaoh, and secondly Anubis watches the final trial of the deceased along with Horus
Some students say that Anubis was the son of the goddess Nephthys but his father was Osiris who was confused and rather slept with Isis instead of  Nephthys  because he was drunk ,then Anubis   was the illegitimate son of  Seth who wanted to kill him at birth, but Nephthys  asked Isis to catch Anubis the baby and take care of him, so  later when Seth killed Osiris, Anubis helped Isis to revive her husband and also why Anubis was in charge of embalming the pharaohs, and guide
the necropolis. 
 
Anubis was a god was very important to many titles:
1-the head of the large cemetery 
2-the head of the western  sacred land
 3-the head of the sacred country which is on the mountain
 4-chief of the caves because the Book of Caverns , his role was to guide the dead into the afterlife, illuminating the moon,
5 – the head of  the divine store is the place of embalming
 6-chief of embalming
 7-chief of the embalmers
8-the one about bands, which is the god of mummification that accompanied the deceased to the tribunal.
9-who has the hearts and hands, imposed  by Anubis of the deceased to take heart and take it to trial, which will be weighed under their supervision, in Instead he put an amulet in the form of scarab
10-head  of the dairy cow was often found donating milk with Isis at the tables of offerings
